The Wesleyan District Lay Ministry Committee is pleased to announce our plans to offer a face-to-face Lay Ministry Academy this Spring along the addition of a monthly online course schedule.

The Spring Academy is scheduled for April 17, 2021, with the location still to be determined.  We are closely watching the COVID-19 situation and changes may be necessary as we get closer to the date.  Classes will be limited in size and masks, social distancing will be required.  Please register early to ensure you reserve your seat.

We plan to offer online courses, via Zoom, monthly, starting with the Intro to Lay Servant Ministries, which is an introductory class for persons discerning a call to proclaim the presence and power of God through serving in their local churches.

Jim Minutelli, director of Lay Ministries for the Wesleyan District, states, “It is so vitally important to bring our Lay Servants and Lay Ministers together in fellowship with each other, to learn and grow in our faith, in the connection we all share as part of our District, the United Methodist Church and the WV Conference, whether face-to-face or remotely.”

All online courses will be open to anyone who is interested in taking one!  The courses could be used for Bible Studies, devotion time or just to learn more about the United Methodist Church.  Please contact the District office at 304-472-1095 for more details about this option.

Print the attached brochure and sign-up sheet for additional information and contact Jim Minutelli at 304-629-9398 or minutellij@gmail.com OR the Wesleyan District office at 304-472-1095 if you have questions or comments.
