Wesleyan District postpones Lay Ministry Academy

Good morning fellow Lay Servants,
After much consideration, and out of an abundance of caution and care for our laity and instructors, the Wesleyan District Committee on Lay Ministry has made the difficult decision to postpone this coming Saturday’s Wesleyan District Lay Ministry Academy.
Please know that we are all extremely disappointed, as many of you are, that we will not be meeting together this weekend for our fellowship and our learning together as a connection, but rest assured that as soon as we develop a plan and schedule to move forward, we will let you know. Our current plan is to hold the Academy, without any major changes, just at a later date.
I have been keeping a close eye on the coronavirus situation, as I know you have, and this past week has been a week of rapidly changing developments that culminated yesterday in additional and extended guidelines for groups of fifty or more gathering together.
We know that many of you have already paid your fees and received your books. Please keep your materials for now and the monies you paid will hold your spot when we reschedule.
We know that our God is in control, and in that we should find peace. And this situation doesn’t stop us from worshiping wherever we are! We are a resilient people, and together, with patience, love, and hope, we will get through this.
Please let me know if you have any questions or comments, and I am looking forward to our future time together!
Take care, and God bless,
Jim Minutelli, CLM
Director of Lay Ministry
Wesleyan District
