Wesleyan District Spring Lay Academy to offer new Conflict Resolution class

Posted By Jim Minutelli on Mar 6, 2019 | 0 comments

We are pleased to be able to offer this course for the first time in the Wesleyan District, and it is a great course for the Certified Lay Servant, Certified Lay Speaker and Certified Lay Minister to continue their certification.  We are honored and blessed to have the Rev. Janet Harman teaching this course for us this year.

Rev. Harman is an ordained Deacon-Retired in the WV Annual Conference and is a WV Licensed Professional Counselor and WV Licensed Social Worker, providing counseling services at St. Marks UMC in downtown Charleston.

Janet has coordinated the Listening Circle trainings for the past several years prior to our Annual Conferences and currently chairs the Conference’s Conflict Transformation team.

She serves as a member of the WV Board of Medicine and WV Counseling Association and sings with the WV Symphony Chorus.

Janet states that this class “will help individuals engage conflict in healthy and meaningful ways.  ‘Engaging conflict well transforms people AND organizations.’”

Check out this course and any of the other courses we are offering during this Spring Academy, and let us know if you have any questions!
