Great message, meeting, and training with approximately sixty Wesleyan District local church leaders and clergy today @ Broad Street United Methodist.
Special thanks to Rev. Felica Wooten Williams for an inspiring message, reminding us that we need to love each other as we love ourselves and that we can’t “Photoshop the love of God into our lives.”
Rev. Williams also shared with us during her morning plenary session how bias, partiality, and favoritism can enter our lives in a variety of ways and for a number of different reasons, and ways to confront and combat them in our interaction with ourselves and with others.
After a great lunch, served by the men & women of Broad Street UMC, we broke into church leadership sessions, with Rev. Steve Meadows leading the Church Council session, Kim Matthews facilitating the Finance/Treasurers class, Rev. Cliff Schell sharing his expertise to the PPRC group, and Jeff Taylor leading the Trustee session. Definitely appreciate our leaders who shared their time and helped us discern & understand more about our ministry to our churches and charges.
To our laity & clergy who came out today and participated in this awesome gathering of our connection, thank you for spending your Saturday with us. Let us know what you thought!
