Course in Stewardship now open to all

During the Fall Wesleyan District Lay Ministry Academy on September 29th, we are offering a new course on Stewardship.  Our District Superintendent, Rev. Mary Ellen Finegan, is teaching the course, and, as we talked, we decided that this would be an excellent course for anyone interested in, or charged with duties related to, stewardship in their churches.  This will indeed benefit churches as they start their stewardship campaign this fall.

As such, we have decided to open this course to anyone, not just lay servants!

NEW:  Becoming Spirited Stewards

Rev. Mary Ellen Finegan, Instructor

An advanced course in Lay Servant Ministries giving participants the tools to enable their churches to become stewards-in-action in all God has entrusted to them. Members go beyond thinking in terms of dollars contributed to see stewardship as becoming living examples of the gospel.

“Real stewardship is radical, which means going to the roots of our faith.  If we take stewardship seriously – and joyfully – it won’t be just another addition to the same old programs we’ve been doing in our congregations. It will change our thinking, acting and imagining.”

DATE:  September 29, 2018

TIME:  Opening worship with communion @ 8:00am

Cost is $30, which includes your book, materials, and lunch and snacks.

Please contact the District office or Jim Minutelli at or 304-629-9398 for more information.
